Interchurch Ministries of Nebraska

is a statewide ecumenical agency that provides planning and program support to cooperating denominations in Nebraska.

IMN was designed for Christian communions in Nebraska, in order that churches might come together for worship, teaching, service, and common witness to the faith. IMN is both ecumenical and evangelical in its vision. As it calls the churches to work together in service to the world, so it also calls the churches to their common mission of proclaiming the good news of God in Jesus Christ.

IMN began its ministries in 1971 as the realization of the churches' longing to live out the vision of Christ's prayer "that they may all be one" (John 17:22).

IMN's purpose is to be an instrument of the churches, individually and together, as they carry out their programs of ministry and mission.

IMN is actively engaged in the "Life and Work" dimensions of ecumenism. Witness to our unity in Christ is given through a variety of programs. IMN programs involve many more groups than the ten members. As each program begins, many Nebraska denominational groups are invited to join the design committee - as full participants or in observer status. Programs continue as long as there is expressed need and financial resources are available. Some programs require additional part or full-time staff.


 
Re:  Our IMN Web Site Server Crashes and Current Web Site Rebuilding Project

The IMN in-office server computer crashed again on Thursday, Feb 8, 2007. This time it smelled like burning electrical wires -- last time it was a grinding hard drive! We have now moved our IMN Web Site Hosting to an off site Commercial Server which will be much more reliable -- plus they do daily back-ups for us!

We lost much of our recent "new" web pages and content that had been created in the last several months and updates to our Site back when the hard drive crashed about two months ago. That was also when we discovered we had a problem with our Site backups. Therefore, we are now having to go back and "reconstruct" many of the prior Site pages from other documents and sources -- a very time consuming process.

Please bear with us during this reconstruction and rebuilding period and drop by here when you can to see what's been added in the "What's New" Box above. All good things take time, but the IMN Site will be much more "Usable" and current in the end.

We have also hired an outside Web Site "Builder" and Consultant to help us with the change to the new Site Hosting Server and the rebuilding of the IMN Web Site as well as training some of our Staff to use Web Page Building and Editing Software so we can create new Web Pages and do updates for ourselves.

At the same time we are redoing the IMN Site to have a slightly different and more appealing "Look and Feel" plus easier to use internal navigation and page links. (Check out our new Categorized Text Navigation Bar to the left, and notice that the grey bar at the top with www.interchurchministries.org is a link back to this Home page from anywhere on the IMN Site, for example.)

Please come back periodically and check our "What's New" box above to see the latest listing of new pages and updates to the IMN Site -- New content pages for the present and also some resurrected from the past!
